scripture tote

Take a piece of fabric that is 10 inches by 15 inches. You will also need a piece of single sided quilted fabric the same size.

With the two fabrics wrong sides together pin bias tape around the outer edge.

Sew around the edge of the bias tape, and also so along every other line on the quilted fabric. So the front becomes quilted as well. You could also use one single piece of double sided quilted material instead and just sew bias tape around the edge.

You will then need two pieces of fabric that are 9.5 inches by 5 inches.
Fold and iron the outer edges down a little.

Then fold it over again about 1/4 inch and iron. Sew around the folded edge of the entire piece. Do this to both pieces. In the corners sew around like a square.

Now cut two pieces of fabric that is 9 and a half inches by 2 inches.

Fold in half right sides together and sew. Turn inside out and press.

Then pin to the shorter edge along the bias tape 3 inches in from the edge. Sew along the edge of the bias tape.
I mean sew right on the edge of the bias tape like this.

Then fold the handle up and sew a box.

Repeat with the other handle. Then cut 6 pieces of bias tape that are 1 one inch long.

You will then pin them to the piece you previously hemmed. Pin one in the center and then the other two 1.5 inches in from the edge.

Pin the two hemmed pieces with the looped bias tape to the outside edges of the entire fabric piece. You want to center it the short width and place it one inch from the edge on the long width.
Sew around the very edge of the hammed pieces. You only want to sew down the two short sides and the long edge closest to the handles. Leave the other long edge open to slide your Book Of Mormon into.

Slide your pen, marking pencils, or pencil into the loops.

Slide your Book Of Mormon into the cover pockets.

And there you have it!
